H.A.Y.W.I.R.E. Bleak Review

Bleak...this CD is anything but. Steve Cambian, the mastermind behind H.A.Y.W.I.R.E., put together one of the best produced local CD’s I’ve heard in a while. Steve wrote, recorded, engineered and produced this CD out of his home studio. But don’t let that discourage you, I guarantee this CD sounds like something that has been done by one of the big record companies.

The songs are well thought out and put together nicely. Wilted Away and Human Trash are two of my favorites on this release. Wilted Away is just a great song that needs to be listened to rather then described. Human Trash is definitely one that has some deep meaning behind it. Listening to song makes you feel rather sad at that someone aborted a child.

The instrumentation on the CD is done very well and sounds very nice. The vocals are also done very well. The only problem I had with the whole CD is that in certain spot it sounds like Steve is holding back and not releasing his full potential. I believe by the next release this will not be the case and it will be even better.

Steve is in the middle of remixing the Bleak CD right now to be released entitled Bleaker. The band is also in the midst of recording new songs for an upcoming CD so be on the lookout.
